Linda Kweiter Boman is a constant at CFB. Through all the highs and lows in her CrossFit journey, she has remained consistent and determined. There is not an event she doesn’t attend, or a moment she isn’t cheering on everyone around her. Her heart shows in every action and word.
CFB: Tell us about yourself (family, job, sports, interests etc)
LB: I have three children: Alexandria is 20, Ella is 12 and Sean is 9. I have two sisters; one is my twin! I implement Human Capital Management Software and I work from home. My job is challenging but I love it! I also love hiking on an ‘off’ day.
CFB: When did you start CrossFit?
LB: I started Crossfit in March 2014. My friend gave me a groupon for Crossfit Valley Park as a Divorce present. BEST present ever!!
CFB: What were you thinking/feeling after your first CrossFit WOD?
LB: I felt like a weakling. I couldn’t lift the women’s bar over my head but I was determined to get stronger.
CFB: What is your favorite WOD?
LB: Partner WODS are my most favorite and I have so many favorites WODs. If I have to pick one, I would say anything with Deadlifts, wall balls and kettlebell swings.
CFB: Least favorite WOD?
LB: Anything with OHS or Thrusters
CFB: What is your favorite WOD song?
LB: Anything Hip-Hop
CFB: Do you ever get competitive with each other in WODs?
LB: I don’t get competitive, I get my energy from everyone in the room and it motivates me to push myself harder.
CFB: What is your favorite quote?
LB: Strength doesn’t come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn’t.
CFB: What is something about you that your fellow members wouldn’t know?
LB: I can speak Arabic.
CFB: How has CrossFit affected your life outside the gym?
LB: It has given me self confidence that I never knew I could feel! I feel like it’s also given me a level of mental strength that I never had before which extends into my career and personal life. My doctor asked me what I was doing because all my blood work has improved since I started. I definitely eat better, sleep better, I rarely ever get sick (knock on wood) and I heal fast if I do.
CFB: If you could write a WOD tailored to you, what would it be?
LB: AMRAP 12 minutes: 30 wall balls, 50 sit ups, 50 KBS
CFB:What is your favorite thing about CFB? What don’t I love about CFB?!
LB: I LOVE the community at CFB. Everyone is so supportive and we all want everyone to succeed. It’s so powerful to have another member rooting for you when you don’t think you can finish. I never feel insecure if I can’t do something like I would at a regular gym. Each coach brings their own unique style and I enjoy working with all of them. Trent and Ninette are so sincere, genuine and caring and I’ve felt at home from the first day I walked in!
