I began Crossfit as a means to stay in shape after completing an NCAA Div III track career. While it has vastly improved my fitness and has been a wonderful outlet for stress, the most meaningful reason why I have stayed involved in CrossFit is the community filled with people with similar goals of fitness, long-term sustainable health, and getting out of their comfort zone.
Why CrossFit Ballwin?
CFB has a great community of driven individuals who enjoy being challenged. These awesome humans create an environment that is supportive of the goals of each individual and the group. There are always individuals ready to rise to any occasion, help one another out, and get a job done. We better ourselves by lifting up those around us.
My 1st CrossFit Experience?
During my senior year of college a track and field teammate of mine convinced me to do Fran during preseason training as an “active recovery” workout. I’m not sure I got much recovery from the workout but I started Crossfit as soon as the track season was over!
What Drives Me?
I love seeing the personal growth that occurs in the gym. Seeing athletes take initiative to ultimately achieve a new skill, move better through a workout, or simply be in a better mood after a workout is inspiring.
My Biggest Achievement?
My biggest achievement is overcoming a few challenges in physical and mental health to get to where I am in my relationship to myself and others. Crossfit has played such an instrumental role in helping me achieve my personal goals both in and out of the gym.
Favorite CrossFit Exercise?
I am a chiropractic student at Logan University. I hope to implement movement into my future practice to minimize pain, prevent injury, and to guide lifestyle change in the management of chronic disease.
